In a significant parliamentary development, Members of Parliament elected to the Rajya Sabha from states including West Bengal, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu took oath as members of the Upper House in New Delhi.

The oath-taking ceremony witnessed the presence of several senior political leaders, marking an important moment in the functioning of India’s parliamentary system. Among those who took oath were Sharad Pawar, chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction), Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Tiruchi Siva.

The swearing-in ceremony signifies the formal induction of newly elected representatives into the Rajya Sabha, enabling them to participate in legislative proceedings, debates, and decision-making at the national level. Leaders from different regions and political backgrounds coming together under one platform reflects the diverse and federal character of the Upper House.

Sharad Pawar, a veteran leader with decades of political experience, continues to play a pivotal role in national politics, while Ramdas Athawale remains an influential voice in the Union government. Tiruchi Siva, known for his parliamentary contributions, also adds to the experienced representation in the House.

The oath-taking of these members marks a renewed phase in parliamentary activity, bringing together seasoned leadership and regional representation to address key national issues. The inclusion of MPs from multiple states highlights the broad-based nature of India’s लोकतांत्रिक framework, where voices from across the country contribute to shaping policies and governance.

As the Rajya Sabha resumes its proceedings with newly inducted members, expectations remain high for constructive debates and legislative progress in the coming sessions.
